miranda kerr 1 Miranda Kerr Breastfeeding Baby Picture
Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom are the proud parents of a baby boy – Flynn Bloom – born January 6.  Yesterday Miranda released the first photograph of her and her newborn son… she’s laying on a bed breastfeeding him!  No doubt it is best for baby and natural, etc… I breastfed my daughter for over a year… but is it really necessary to release a photo of it?

What is wrong with releasing a photo of something that is natural? I’m not sure I get your point. The picture in question actually shows just as much boob as the picture in the lowcut dress above.

I can’t imagine a better way to help women realize that breastfeeding is natural, is normal, is the right thing to do, then to have celebrities show that. After all, young women do seem to immortalize celebrities in every other way…why not this one, too? Then maybe we won’t have women questioning such a natural thing like you are.

This society needs to support our breastfeeding Moms who are making the absolute best decision for their child. It is so unnerving that this is an issue at all.

Breasts were made to feed babies. Our society should celebrate this miracle that a woman’s body not only grows our babies, but also makes food to nourish our babies physically, mentally, and spiritually. Women breastfeeding should be a natural part of our society. All women deserve to feel comfortable feeding their children in public.

I commend her for releasing a picture. This should be the norm not the exception! If our society is going to worship and emulate celebrities then let it be for something positive, like breastfeeding.

Unfortunately in our soceity I believe that it is necessary for photos to be released. Women need to know that it is normal to breastfeed, and the only way for them to know that is to physically see it being done, at home and in public. In other well developed countries it is more accepted than here in the US and there is not an issue, when seeing a baby or toddler nurse because it is completely normal.
If the thought that brestfeedding should take place in private were the norm, then any feeding of a child should be done in private. So I pose this question for you should all babies be feed in private? Including those who use a bottle (Formula or Expressed breast milk)
I say Kudos to her for being proud to showing our society and young women, the best way to feed a baby.

It’s beautiful! I wish more people could see how beautiful and tender breastfeeding is. I salute her for releasing this photo. The more we see it, the less taboo it becomes. Breastfeeding is normal. I don’t see why people make a big stink of it. Victoria Secret catalogs and tv are WAY more sexualized than a mom feeding her babe.

Is it really necessary to think that breastfeeding is somehow LESS modest than strutting around in lingerie.

I happen to like this side of Miranda more than that which dictates fashion mores to women.

I guess now is a good time to remind the author that in so many industrialized countries, women can breastfeed in public without all the puritanical hoopla. It’s beautiful,it’s functional, it’s end of story.
